When fully fueled, the Lago 22S carries 58-gallons, and enough gas for a whole day out on the water, with no need for a reserve fuel tank.
The engine runs relatively quiet, measuring an output of 72.7 dB at 3,000-rpm. It’s not exactly whisper-quiet, but you won’t have any trouble chatting with your guests from behind the helm.
Hull
The 2022 Viaggio Lago 22S features a tri-hull pontoon design. Each pontoon measures an equal 25-inches in diameter, extending to the stern. These lightweight aluminum pontoons provide the boat with a shallow draft and less drag on the Mercury outboard, giving you excellent performance and tight handling on the water.
The stability of the tri-hull is impressive, and if you only have experience driving V-hulls, you’ll find the pontoon hull a very different experience behind the wheel. The pontoon turns and maneuvers well despite its width and length.
With a 23-foot length, it handles like a bay boat while providing excellent penetration through the chop and waves. The Lago 22S features design and construction with Viaggio’s legendary tested frame featuring heavy C-channel cross-members 16-inches on center. Viaggio has a 30+ year legacy of producing some of the sturdiest high-performance hulls on the market.
Interior, Seating, and Deck
The 2022 Viaggio Lago 22S features an extended platform at the stern and bow of the boat through the doors at either end of the lounge. You get easy access to the water, and the platforms also help with casting and diving, bringing you closer to the water.
The platform in the stern has plenty of room for prepping your dive gear or retrieving fish from the water. There’s also a retractable stainless steel boarding ladder for easy climbing onto the deck.
The deck features a wrap-around wall, and dual-curved lounges at the bow and stern, featuring light-gray vinyl upholstery with accent stripes providing an impressive aesthetic. Stainless steel rails run around the bow and stern, providing a clean aesthetic to the look. The bow can seat two people on either side facing forward or two to three people aside when sitting side-by-side.
The rear lounge features the same plush, comfortable cushions in identical upholstery.
You get a three-quarter-width bench with seating for three passengers and a reversible backrest providing plenty of room for watching watersports and sunbathing. There are cup holders in both lounges and teak marine flooring running the length of the deck from bow to stern.
You also get a removable table for setting up in the bow or aft lounge, and the lounge benches feature roto-molded frames. There are dual-hinged cushions and loads of under-seat storage for your gear.
Entering the helm, we find there are the pilot and co-pilot chairs. The driver chair features plush armrests and padding with easy-to-clean materials. Both chairs operate on swivels allowing easy pivoting for the co-pilot and driver.
The driver’s console comes with a large tri-spoke steering wheel, and the 2022 Viaggio Lago 22S comes with SeaStar hydraulic steering. You get incredible handling and total control over the boat when docking in the slip or maneuvering around the launch.
The console features analog gauges and all your controls within easy reach. You’ll find five gauges for your engine information, fuel, and electrical system. To the left of the steering wheel, you’ll find the stereo controls and the throttle on the right side. While there’s no windscreen for the 2022 Viaggio Lago 22S, we don’t think you’ll miss it.
You get a Rockford Fosgate stereo for entertainment, with all speaker wires cleanly routed, so nothing snags them. Below the console, you’ll find a cuddy with additional storage. You get an open plan design for the deck, with a walk-through design from bow to stern. When things get hot during midday, use the large Bimini top to give your guests some shade on the water.
