Design Overview
Nimbus is one of Sweden’s most established recreational boatbuilders. The company has a heritage of building vessels that stand up to the challenges of the cold, open waters of the Baltic Sea and the Kattegat.
You get a day cruiser with a rugged and reliable seaworthy hull featuring a dedicated operating system and electrical framework. Despite its length and narrow beam, the boat gives you remarkable efficiency and excellent power.
The ten-passenger capacity with the Nimbus gives you plenty of room on board, with a double-seat and sun lounge at the bow and a walk-around cabin featuring enclosed head and berths. There’s a hardtop helm with adjustable seating featuring a table and a large, open-plan stern platform with a boarding ladder for getting in and out of the water.
The Nimbus makes the perfect family cruiser, and it comes in a variety of customizable options to suit your needs and your budget.
Engines
The 2022 Nimbus T11 gets its power from the dual 300-HP Mercury Verado V-8 outboards. You get plenty of power on tap for cruising at speeds of 22 to 32-mph at 4,000 to 4,500-rpm.
When you open the Nimbus up, the three engines will peak at an impressive 47.6-mph. With a fully-fueled tank, the Nimbus T11 holds 224.5-gallons, offering you a cruising range of 235-miles, with a 10% reserve tank.
Hull
The 2022 Nimbus T11 comes with a hull designed for efficiency and easy planing. The long, narrow design of the T11 features a nearly vertical stem cutting away sharply near the forefoot. As a result of this streamlined, clean design, you get a better slicing prow for rougher ocean conditions, reducing lift in the bow while maintaining stability in rough chop.
The hull features design and construction with double chines that provide extra lift in the aft while dampening spray coming onto the deck. The design also features dual steps providing an “air-lubrication” effect to the running surface.
The hull flattens out to a 20.6-degree deadrise in the aft, combined with longitudinal strakes to lock the boat out on hard turns. The Nimbus T11 comes standard with the “Zipwake” interceptor trimming system. As a result, you get less bow rise moving onto the plane, giving you amazing efficiency at any speed.
Interior, Seating, and Deck
If you’re spending a full day or the entire weekend out on the water, you need a comfortable environment to relax and soak in your surroundings. Your boat needs enough seating room in the bow and aft to accommodate your guest and allow them to chat while they enjoy the sun setting over the horizon.
Ensuring there’s shade from the glare of the sun and an ice-cold beverage in the refrigerator takes the strain out of the day. Your boat needs ample work surfaces for preparing food, a grill for cooking, and a full head and bathroom.
The T11 brings you all of these amenities and more, with accommodation for up to 11 passengers. There are two seats in the helm, a six-seater cockpit, two seats at the bow, and three at the aft of the vessel. The bow also converts into a sun pad and awning to keep the sun off you when it’s time to cool off.
The helm sets a seamanlike impression, with the Mercury SmartCraft Digital Throttle & Shift giving you total control over the vessel at any speed. There’s an option for a joystick control for the bow thrusters, making easy work of docking.
You also get the top-of-the-line 12” Simrad GPS and Fishfinder featuring an electronic touch display and the controls for the bow thrusters. The helm comes with a cover provided by a hardtop roof featuring a four-point mounting design extending from the windshield aft over the helm seating and to rest on the chest.
Beneath the deck, you’ll find a galley with a sink, workspace, space for your grill, and drawer refrigerator. The port of the helm features a pocket door offering easy cabin access. There’s a bench with under-seat storage at the bottom of the steps.
To the bow, you’ll find a spacious double-berth with shelves and plenty of storage below. We see an enclosed bathroom to starboard featuring an electric toilet, shower, and washbasin. The second door leads you through to the second double-berth. The cabin in the T11 provides enough space for napping or spending the weekend out on the water with the family.
You find an accommodative secure-opening hatch under the cushioned bow allowing you to stow away your bulky gear for easy access when you need it. The cockpit comes with a teak table in the center of the lounge and a three-seater configuration on either side. You have two of the seats in the helm on pedestal mounts with handles allowing the directional setup of the seat to your specifications.
The third forward-facing seat features a sliding backrest converting into a sun pad. You get a versatile seating setup with several configurations to suit your activities out on the water.
Some of the combinations available include a six-seater set up around the table, forward-facing seating for six while cruising, or seating for four guests at the table, while two other lie on the sunbed. You get a cockpit awning that extends at anchor, providing extra shade.
The sturdy access gates limit access to the stern deck while allowing easy passage for your guests to reach the water for a swim. You also have options for a towing arch above the engines for watersports. Under the cockpit, you’ll find a large storage cuddy with hatch access.
The deck features hardwood flooring running from bow to stern, and you get plush, stain-resistant cushions for the seats. We like the use of chrome railing through the vessel, giving it a classy look.
Pricing
The 2022 Nimbus T11 comes with a base model price tag of $447,000. You have many options to kit it out with any custom configuration you want. You have your choice of the Spartan work interior trim or the luxury option with air conditioning, generator, and Seakeeper gyrostabilizer.
However, adding luxury fittings and customizations can significantly increase the price tag. You could look at paying closer to the $600,000 mark with all the optional bells and whistles on this boat.
2022 Nimbus T11– The Verdict
The 2022 Nimbus T11 is a versatile vessel offering you the option for a high-quality dayboat configured to your specifications. You get plenty of power on tap from the twin 300-HP Mercury V-8 motors and great handling despite the length and narrow design of the boat.
Sure, it’s not the best choice for a high-performance model, but that’s not the design intention with this vessel. It’s a comfortable cruiser built you your expectations of luxury. You get elite Swedish engineering and spacious accommodations for a great time out on the water.
