If you’re looking for an affordable boat for skiing or wake sports, the 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard is waiting for you to take it for a spin. This sports boat gives you everything you need to enjoy a fantastic wakeboarding or wakesurfing experience, thanks to its adjustable ballast, surf tabs, dedicated wakeboard setup and tower, and powerful performance.

The 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard combines intelligent design, functional styling, and exceptional performance in a good-looking package. You get a boat ready for wakesports from the moment you put it in the water, with no need to spend a fortune on accessories.

This model is a blend of value and style, offering you sleek looks and a dedicated design for enjoying time out on the water with your friends. Whether you’re looking for a competition boat or a boat for weekend fun at the dam or lake, the 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard gives you a complete sports-ready package whenever you need it.

Let’s take a detailed look at what the 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard offers you.

Contents

Design Overview

The 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard comes with a near-vertical stem, creating a longer bow, allowing for more seating area and a longer running surface for the hull. The H2 comes with serious styling, and you’ll love the compound curvature with clean lines and the aggressive arc of the windshield. The styling is simply superb, and its looks hold their own compared to any other top runner model in this category.

At its core, this boat is a beast. The 250-Hp Mercury Verado outboard, coupled with the onboard ballast and surf tabs, make this model a real “Winn” for the wakesports enthusiast. You get the complete package you need for any wakesports and its cates to professional and competitive use. From the monochrome interior to the polished Gelcoat, this boat is a real beauty on the water and out.

The looks on the H2 are nothing short of exceptional. You get an all-new design with a cross-curving glass windshield that complements the boat’s lines. You also can add the bootstrap line to the hull paint job for a sporty look.

If you’re going to go all out with your H2, we recommend going for the “Elevate” package. This package turns the boat from a standard floater into a wakesports machine.

You also have monochromatic vinyl seating featuring cool-touch technology to keep your skin cool and dry on hot days. You get plenty of under-seat storage and different configurations for the rear sun pad and lounge, allowing you to set it up any way you want, for sun or sports.

Overall, the H2 has a premium feel and look, and we wonder how it can come in at such an affordable price tag?

Engines

2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard gets its speed and power from the outboard Verado Series 250-Hp engine. The Verado is Mercury’s flagship range, and this 250-Hp engine feels like it has the grunt and legs of a 400 from any other manufacturing brand.

The Verado offers you excellent mid-range torque and power, which we want from a high-performance tow-sports boat like the H2. While you might expect such a powerful motor to scream like a beast when you open it up, the Verado remains quiet, purring away, producing the largest wakes. You also get a 40-gallon fuel capacity with the H2.

You get full digital control over the engine, allowing for easy adjustment and accurate and engaging throttle response that leaves you feeling like you’re handling a powerboat more than a wakesports model.

The Verado 250 powers the H2 to a top speed of just over 50-mph at 5,800-rpm. The H2 reaches its plane in under 4-seconds, thanks to the stable V-hull providing a smooth running surface. You get a ride that cuts effortlessly through the water, with excellent response time and plenty of maneuverability. When you have the wheel in your hands, the posture feels aggressive, leaping through the water at your command.

We think the outboard is the way to go; you also have the option of tilting the motor all the way out of the water for easy loading and launching. However, we get it if some enthusiasts might prefer the sterndrive option with the H2.

If sterndrive is your thing, you have options for the forward-facing drive from Volvo Penta or MerCruiser. As a bonus, you get an extended rear platform with the sterndrive version, which makes it a great choice for fishing and other sports like diving and spearfishing.

The biggest advantage of the outboard configuration comes from the hidden changing room compartment that takes the place of the rear platform in the sterndrive option. The compartment lifts out using gas-powered arms, and you also have the option of using it for extra storage.

Hull

The 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard features a design with the signature Four Winns Stable-Vee hull for an outstanding running surface. You get a full fiberglass design for strength, performance, and easy planning, even in rough waters.

We love how the aluminum billet cleats snap back flush into the hull, leaving a clean, aerodynamic look. The hull also comes with the optional ballast system for wakesports, giving you up to 4,000-lbs of ballast for creating any wake shape or size to suit your rider preferences.

The digital interface in the dashboard allows you to store your favorite surf and engine settings, so you don’t have to waste time figuring it out with every session. Four Winns has one of the best warranty offerings in the industry. The Four Winns H2 hull comes with a lifetime manufacturer warranty, ensuring no defects. The hull also comes with a five-year warranty against osmosis and blistering.

Interior, Seating, and Deck

The trim and interior have a luxurious look to them. Our test boat came with the Elevate package, featuring monochromatic leather-like vinyl and cool-touch technology. Thanks to the digital dashboard and Simrad 7″ screen, the helm has a sporty, modern feel.

You also can add a second 7″ Simrad screen for a fully digital dashboard. You get access to the engine and surf functions of the boat from within the touchscreen menus.

The dashboard also features the stylish aluminum billet trim, and you get an armrest over the throttle and a three-spoke sports steering wheel with a brushed aluminum billet finish. You’ll find an iPhone holder and dedicated induction charger below the captain’s controls to the side of your foot.

We love the Four Winns design of the captain’s car, with the cutout making it easy to turn back and check on the skier. There’s also a level on the side of the seat for easy adjustment of the swivel through 180-degrees.

The passenger’s chair offers you the same comfortable, plush cushioning. However, you get a flip-up bolster to the seat, allowing the passenger to enjoy the standup position, grabbing the top of the windshield rail for support.

You also have the option of flipping the passenger seat’s backrest to a fore or aft position. In the aft position, the passenger has a comfortable rest to lean on while standing, and the people in the lounge get a lounge design for more comfort.

The cockpit

The wraparound aft seating features plenty of cupholders on the sides of the seats, and the rear wings on the sun pad lounger lift up to give you walkway access to the transom and the rear swim platform. The wings also lift onto struts allowing for a raised lounger on the sun pad on either side. Or, you have the option of removing the pads entirely, allowing for a full walkaround in the transom.

The rest of the seats come with undersea storage, and there’s enough room under the center seat of the rear lounger to fit your cooler. The rear swim platform comes with an access ladder built into the boarding platform. The ladder comes with a unique design, facing diagonally off the edge of the swim platform for easier access from the water.

The bow lounge is the best example of the upgraded styling and comfort of the 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard over its predecessor. The coamings feature upholstery that runs from the gunwale to the seating. You get impressive detail in the stitching and patterns on the sidewalls. You also get handy aluminum grab rails positioned under the gunwales that allow you to hang on when things get bumpy.

All the seats in the bow lounge feature under-seat storage bins for your gear, and the seatbacks feature contoured padding for additional comfort and lumbar support. The cockpit features a walkthrough into the bow lounge, and you can close it off with the swinging doors with friction hinges. Close the doors when the weather gets cold and flip the windshield back into the full position to prevent cold air from entering the cockpit.

The flooring comes with more locker storage space, featuring gas-assisted hinges. These storage areas also play host to the ballast system for the boat. The deck features non-slip flooring and comfortable matting that feels soft underfoot.

You get a JL Audio stereo system with full integration into your touchscreen controls. The boat also comes with dedicated RGB lighting accessible through a button on the dash. The RGB lights are installed in the speakers and along the boat’s sides.

The boat also features options for fitting the bow with a windlass and storage area. When you purchase your H2, you get a complementary 4-wheel trailer included.

Pricing

The 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard comes with plenty of optional extras. However, the base package is great, and you get a retail price of $102,434, which is about half of what you pay for high-end wakesports boats.

The Verado 250 comes as standard, and you get plenty of ballast, along with all the surf functions included. Even if you feel like going for a few optional upgrades, we doubt you’ll end up paying more than $155,000 for the complete Elevate package.

If you have the budget, we recommend going for the Elevate Package. It comes with all the surf features and the onboard ballast system and includes a deluxe monochrome black cool-touch vinyl interior with a leather-like texture. You get stitched hexagon patterns and an embossed bright accent in the rear seat.

The elevate package also includes the option to upgrade to the powered wakeboard tower in a gun-metal grey finish. You also get the full touchscreen for total control over the ballast and surf functions of the boat. You also have the option of upgrading to the dual Simrad touchscreens.

We feel that excellent value for money and a real “winn” if you compare the H2 and other brands like MasterCraft, Malibu, and Chaparral. All components on the 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard come with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty on defects.

2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard – The Verdict

Overall, the 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard offers you a powerful wakesports boat with exceptional handling, excellent ballast, and a range of surf features for wake control. Best of all, it doesn’t come with the heavy price tag associated with many top-level wakesports boats. You get a stylish and functional package ready to hit the water at your dam or lake.

You get excellent features as standard on this boat, and there’s not much you can do to improve its comfort or performance beyond what you get with the standard package. However, Four Winns gives you plenty of customizations, from additional wake tower options to flooring and board carriers. You also have options for deck configurations and motor setups, including a stern drive configuration for the Great Lakes.

The 2022 Four Winns H2 Outboard offers you one of the best entry-level wakesports boats in the industry, and it’s a true pleasure to drive. Take your friends out for some fun and start the party on the water this summer in the H2.
